Seeds of success

Who would have thought that in 10 years I could go from being a cleaner to being the manager of Skukuza’s indigenous nursery! I just could never ever have imagined this,” beamed Meurel Baloyi. “I am so very grateful to SANParks for believing in me and seeing my potential.”

Meurel is the ebullient and charismatic manager of the indigenous nursery at Skukuza. The nursery is a lush, tranquil oasis, full of birdlife and set beneath majestic trees. It feels a world away from the busy public rest camp just three-kilometers away.
