APPLE TV+ TO PRODUCE MASTERS OF THE AIR, THE SECOND BAND OF BROTHERS SEQUEL

As far as the cast is concerned, we only have two names as of March 2020. One is Austin Butler, who is going to play Major Gale Cleven, and the other is Callum Turner, who is going to play Major John Egan. As for Austin Butler, he has appeared in numerous American shows as a guest actor and has recently done work on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, where he played the role of Tex.

In 2001, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, who had previously worked on Saving Private Ryan together, created and produced Band of Brothers, an American World War II miniseries based on the non-fiction book by Stephen E. Ambrose that chronicled the warpath a group of American soldiers in Europe during the war. The title of the book and the series was taken from William Shakespeare’s Henry V, in which the titular protagonist used the phrase in one of his speeches.

Band of Brothers is one of the best miniseries in the history of television and HBO had a major hit with the show; the show won an Emmy and Golden Globe award for best miniseries. Band of Brothers was so popular that it spawned a sequel series, The Pacific, which aired in 2010 and also received several awards. The Pacific was also produced by HBO and was likewise a success.
