With all the research facilities at its disposal, the apex television manufacturer couldn’t resist the lure of the big screen, but with a twist. Ultra short-throw projectors have been taking over the consciousness of consumers in the past couple of years, mainly due to the emergence of laser as a light source instead of traditional lamps. The LSP-9T from Samsung goes a step further by including a triple laser engine that has separate diodes for the R/G/B channels, thereby providing a wider coverage of the colour spectrum and reducing the infamous “rainbow” effect caused by a colour wheel that resides at the heart of every DLP-based projector. Boasting of a high 2800 lumens of brightness, the LSP-9T is the more expensive of the duo in Samsung’s Premiere range.

Its form factor doesn’t deviate from the established norm for these kind of display devices and looks similar to the competition from Benq, Optoma and LG but on the inside, there’s a lot of flex. A full smart TV platform in the form of Tizen OS and a sophisticated soundbar ensure that you really don’t need anything else to make the microwave stop craving popcorn.
