Probably the most-awaited and anticipated series from Oppo finally drops in. Does it have what it takes to justify the price?

The new Reno 6 series features Oppo’s patented Reno Glow design that is an industry-first. We got the Aurora variant and it looks absolutely stunning. The back has gone through a special Diamond Spectrum process that enables it to reflect multiple colours in different kinds of light settings.

Apart from being absolutely mesmerising to look at, it is also fingerprint resistant and feels great to hold in the hand. It’s quite slick and light, weighing in at 177g and the curved edges make it really comfy too.

With a screen-to-body ratio of a cool 92.1% the device is practically borderless. The curved glass effect adds to the seamless experience and the 6.5in 2400x1080p AMOLED display is HDR10+ certified and is a stonker! It gets plenty bright and serves up a rich colour palette that’s quite vibrant.

Powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, the Reno 6 Pro feels super-fluid. Be it home animations or loading time for a game like COD, everything just snaps. We played COD on all settings at max and were hooked. It doesn’t even heat up much when you play for long hours and if you feel the phone is getting sluggish (it never did) you can use Oppo’s RAM expansion option (up to 7GB) which works like a charm.
