Fossil Gen 5E Smartwatch

Last year’s Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch made some noise for being a well-rounded all-purpose watch, especially for Android users. The Gen 5E is the lite, slightly more available version of Fossil’s flagship watch.

So what’s the difference between the two?

The Fossil Gen 5E is not unaffordable, but it is just short of ₹5k cheaper than last year’s Fossil Gen 5. That difference isn’t much if you compare the significant price differences between Apple Series 6 and Apple Watch SE; or others. So from 8GB, the 5E gives you 4GB of storage, the same Qualcomm Snapdragon WearTM 3100 chip, no altimeter in the case of the lite version, and tethered GPS as opposed to the onboard navigation system on the flagship. The rest is pretty much the same – built-in speaker and microphone, water-resistance of up to 3ATM, music control, customisable dials and the works…
