A microphone

While a streamer might get away with using the microphone on their gaming headset, it’s really not the most ideal solution. Even the higher-end gaming headsets have mics that are positively miniscule compared to a stand-alone microphone. If you’re trying to help your streamer up their game, a USB mic is a great way to do that. A USB mic is so named because it plugs straight into your computer via USB, and works directly as an input, without any additional hardware required, unlike XLR mics that require an intermediary device for your computer to use the audio signal.

There are a few considerations when picking a USB microphone. If price is the main factor, more than decent ones can be had for less than PHP 4000 at your favorite online store. A quick search for USB Microphone will yield plenty of results, just make sure you pay attention and pick one that’s an actual USB mic, and not one that is trying to pass itself off as one. We haven’t found a proper USB mic for less than about PHP 3900 or so, so that’s a decent way to narrow your search. Maono, Fifine, and even Razer offer a good set of choices you can start to look at.
