India’s young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been the subject of criticism from all corners of late. He is being picked out consistent-ly in almost every match by fans and several pun-dits alike. Fans, in particular, have made it a bad habit of criticizing him on social media sites. There have been constant memes, poor language used and abuses hurled at the player, who is trying to make a mark in the side.

Pant needs to be given time and it is up to the management and the selectors to decide how will the journey be paved for him. He is currently the deputy to Wriddhiman Saha, who replaced him for the Test series against South Africa in October. Saha is someone who can groom Pant and get him to a certain level in cricket. In limited-overs, Pant is still the number one and is playing almost every match for the side.
