This commentator has made it a habit to grab headlines for the wrong reasons. He is keeping up the repertoire, although he might not be entirely wrong on one of the two reasons at least.

Sanjar Manjrekar has been desperate to return to work, not currying the favor of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), after his run in last year with contemporary Indian cricketer, Ravindra Jadeja, at last year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England. However, his response to his IPL 2020 omission has left even his supporters and cricket fans somewhat baffled.

Manjrekar knew he had crossed the line when he ran foul while commentating with Harsha Bhogle during India’s first pink-ball Test in November against Bangladesh. It was not so much about rubbing Harsha the wrong way but rather of his arrogant-at-the-time implication that cricketers knew better than those who analyzed the game simply because they played it. However, Manjrekar backtracked apologized for it.
