While all major cricket tournaments stand suspended currently, the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was postponed till April 15 is also unlikely to be held. Given the dearth of cricket activity, it is a good time to reflect on some debatable aspects of Indian cricket. In his feature, we do a comparative analysis of Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli as skippers of the Indian cricket team.

OVERALL RECORD AS CAPTAIN

Sourav Ganguly took over the reins of India in the aftermath of the match-fixing scandal, and is credited as the leader who brought the team out of one of its darkest phases. He led India in 49 Tests out of which India won 21 and lost 13. Ganguly had a win percentage of 42.85. In ODIs, the Dada of Indian cricket led the team in 146 matches out of which India won 76. He had a win percentage of 53.52 in the format.
