Adventure In The Andaman Sea
Sanctuary Asia
|July 2017
Boom! Rumble! Crash! A streak of lightning lit up the horizon and a swirling mass of black clouds darkened the already murky and choppy waters of the Andaman sea.
The thunderclaps were getting louder and louder. And tears came pouring down from the heavens, creating ripples in the water. The water we were about to dive into was freezing. The beads of sweat that had started to form on my skin were soon swept away by the fast, cold air currents hitting my face.
My excitement gave rise to shivers until it was time to kit up. We wore our costumes and geared up with regulators and oxygen tanks that brought warmth to our bodies and comfort to our souls. From far, I am sure, we looked like waddling penguins ready to plunge into the dark depths of the ocean. We sat on the edge of our rugged catamaran, took a long breath and a plunge of faith.

Stop The Killer Highway Through Corbett
Even as conservationists in Assam try to minimise wild animal roadkills on NH-37, a highway that obstructs the movement of wildlife from the flooded Kaziranga National Park to the safety of the KarbiAnglong hills… across the country, another killer highway has been foisted on us by the state of Uttarakhand.
