The one product that has made its way into most homes across the world, including India, in the wake of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, is hand sanitisers.
However, India has no database or government website for consumers to know which brand is spurious. Some guidelines are available at the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation website but they were last updated in 2017 and are outdated in the current situation.
