G M Rao, a Mechanical Engineer, a billionaire industrialist, is the Founder Chairman of the GMR Group, the global infrastructure development company. As a first-generation entrepreneur, although he initiated many businesses in varied sectors including insurance, software, jute and sugar, his single-minded focus on the core infrastructure sector resulted in GMR Group. The GMR Group continues to create national infrastructure assets of global scale with focus on Airports, Energy, Transportation and Urban Infrastructure including SEZs.
In his long journey, G M Rao evolved from a student leader, to a trader, to a manufacturer, to a banker, to an infrastructure developer and today a noble contributor to the society. Here he shares his thoughts exclusively with our infinithoughts readers…
