Since the PS1 days Guilty Gear has been the punk cousin to the likes of Street Fighter: endlessly creative, prickly to get to grips with, and gorgeous – whether the graphics were luscious pixel art or the ‘anime in motion’ style that followed the transition to 3D. With Strive, the developer has taken lessons from past entries, but has transferred everything learned straight to the drawing board to sketch out a fresh approach.
