PILGRIMS TO CONSIDER LONGER BANS FOR PITCH INVADERS

PLYMOUTH Argyle are reviewing whether to extend the two-year stadium bans which are issued to any fans who go onto the Home Park pitch.

Individuals have breached ground regulations by entering the field of play at the Pilgrims' last two home games, against Shrewsbury Town and Rotherham United.

Argyle were already spending nearly £3,000 extra per game on additional stewarding after recent cases of pitch incursions and that will increase following the latest incident.

That occurred after the final whistle against Rotherham when a child went onto the playing surface to request match-worn kit from the players.

A club statement read: "Given the recent increase in pitch incursions both at Home Park and across the EFL as a whole - the club is writing to supporters to remind them of the consequences of breaching the pitch perimeter at Home Park.
