Man ‘saw the robber who killed his wife'

THE husband of a British woman who was murdered in Greece by a gang of armed robbers saw the face of one of the attackers, it emerged yesterday.

Caroline Crouch, 20, was strangled in front of her 11-month-old daughter at the Athens home she shared with her 33-year-old helicopter pilot partner, Charalambos “Babis” Anagnostopoulos, in the early hours of last Tuesday.

The attackers also killed the family dog with its lead.

Police suspect an Albanian organised crime gang may be responsible. The group includes Romanian and other nationals who are believed to have carried out similar raids in the area.

Four men, armed with at least one gun, are believed to have broken in through a back window of the family home before making off with £20,000 of jewellery and £10,000 in cash.
