British co-star on the attraction of a ‘grown-up’ television character
BAPTISTE star Tcheky Karyo has become a favourite with female viewers who like “complex” heroes, according to his co-star.
Mercurial detective Julien Baptiste returns to our TV screens tonight for a new series of the spin-off to popular drama The Missing.
Co-star Fiona Shaw says the reason Tcheky, 67, is adored on and off-screen is because he acts like a grown-up.
She said: “Before I met Tcheky every woman I know is in love with him because he is a grown-up person.
“It is really good for the screen that it is not a young action hero and it is a person who has complexity, and people just adore him because they feel he replies to their complexity.”
