Rain wreaks more havoc in city, portion of Ashoka Road caves in
-
Delhi's monsoon preparedness once again came under scrutiny on Wednesday as a part of Ashoka Road caved-in after three hours of rainfall in the morning.
The road is situated in a VVIP area in the National Capital. The hole created by the cave-in is almost 10 feet by-10 feet in size. The police have barricaded the area.
“Road damaged near 10 Ashoka Road, probably due to sinking of a stormwater drainage system. The extent of damage is around 10-foot-long. Barricading done at Ashoka road at Windsor Place and Andhra Bhavan. Traffic is not allowed on the stretch between Windsor Place R/A and Jaswant Singh R/A on Ashoka Road. Kindly plan accordingly,” Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.
