Movie Halls Await A New Normal

Social distancing, PPE kits, popcorn in paper bags will rule theatres once they reopen biz

Movie buffs are disappointed amid the announcement of the guidelines for Unlock 2.0. The wait is much longer now. In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases, the government will continue to keep the cinema halls shut till July 31. Meanwhile, cinema halls are using this time to prepare themselves as the movie watching experience is set to change. India Today TV spoke to the country’s biggest cinema chains to know what will be the changes when the doors open up for cinemagoers.

NO JAM-PACKED HALLS

If you are someone who loves a jam-packed hall, you are in for a surprise as it is set to change. Depending on the capacity, now 60-70% seats will be occupied in every hall to maintain social distancing. How will it happen? Few seats in every row will be kept empty. So now, when you go to watch a movie the seat next to yours will be empty.
