HRD Panel Holds Talks With JNU Students

The high-power committee of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry met students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) at the JNU campus to find solutions to the fee hike issue on Friday.

The meeting went on for two hours in the admin block of the campus. While the panel consisting of former UGC chairman V S Chauhan, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe and UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain held a meeting with JNUSU Representatives to recommend ways to restore normal functioning at the JNU, students outside continued to stage their protest raising numerous slogans and demanding complete rollback of the hostel fee hike.

Some students formed a human chain ahead of the meeting at the main gate but the panel members entered the campus through another gate.
