Tory MP to vote against Covid passports

A CONSERVATIVE MP from Greater Manchester says he will vote against the government’s proposed vaccine passport plan.

Chris Green, who represents Bolton West, said he was concerned the activation of plan B restrictions would be used ‘as a stepping stone’ to further measures in the New Year.

From Wednesday, people living in England will need passports showing double vaccination or a negative test to enter nightclubs and big sporting events.

In a bid to stem the spread of the Omicron variant, Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced an extension of mask wearing and the return of workfrom-home guidance from Monday.
