SAM OSBORNE reckons his best mate Colby Bishop has helped him find a new home at Leamington after making one of the toughest decisions of his life to leave Notts County this summer.

WISH OF BISH HAS PAID OFF

The pair became pals in their days in Notts’ youth teams and have always kept in contact despite Bishop going on to make over 50 appearances for the Brakes before completing a big move to Accrington Stanley.

So, after Osborne turned down a new contract at Meadow Lane, he didn’t need much convincing that Leamington was the right move.

“It was a hard decision to leave Notts,” he said. “I got offered a contract and I could have just signed it. But I needed to play regularly.

“I’d had my breakthrough season and had some good games, scored some goals but I felt like I needed to build on that and kick on.

“Talking to the manager, it was apparent that I wasn’t going to have the season I wanted to have. I need to be learning, the only way I can do that is by playing games.

“Sitting on the bench all season playing the odd game here and there is not going to develop me, it would have just been a stagnant year.
