WARRINGTON TOWN boss Paul Carden admits he can no longer see the season being played to completion.

With more than three quarters of the country plunged into the strictest Tier 4, the Trident Leagues are currently paused.

A mid-January restart has been seen as the best chance to complete the fixtures in full and with that now a long-shot, Carden, whose Wire side are aiming to push for promotion, worries for clubs.

“There’s obviously a lot of concern and worry with regards to the virus, which is natural because it is affecting people’s lives,” Carden told The NLP. “The way our clubs at our level – and most levels – are reliant on the revenue from fans and social clubs, bar areas and snack bars, I just don’t see it happening. If there are no fans in grounds then there is no football because it can’t be funded.
