EGOS ARE NO FORTE OF CASTLE

The Non-League Football Paper

STEVE CASTLE has become so used to his players reveling in the underdog's tag, it’s almost like he doesn’t know anything else.

- Jon Couch

EGOS ARE NO FORTE OF CASTLE

So, it is perhaps understandable that the Royston Town boss reserves an element of caution to be paired against a club of similar stature with a place in the semi-finals of FA Trophy at stake.

The Crows have enjoyed a club record run in Non-League’s premier cup competition this season, sweeping asides the likes of National League sides Boreham Wood and Ebbsfleet and Step 2 high-fliers Wealdstone and Chester on route to the last eight.

Now, with a dream trip to Wembley almost within touching distance for the BetVictor Southern Premier League Central side, it’s fellow minnows Concord Rangers who stand in the way of them and a place in a two-legged semi-final.

The National League South Beachboys lie just 11 places above the Crows in the NonLeague Pyramid and have had a familiar passage to the quarter-finals by seeing off fellow National League South sides Slough Town, Maidstone United and Bath City as well as National League North Leamington.
