HARTLEPOOL United did their part of the job, but it wasn’t enough to book a play-off semi-final tie.
While Pools coasted to the easiest of victories over Weymouth, Stockport won 1-0 at Yeovil to clinch third place and guarantee a home semi-final.
It means fourth-place Hartlepool host seventh-placed Bromley in the Play-off Eliminators next Sunday as they chase a Football League return.
Pools lost at Bromley as recently as May 3, and the teams drew at Victoria Park back in October.
But with 13 home wins from 15, Dave Challinor’s side have reason to be confident of securing a trip to Stockport in the semi-final.
Challinor said: “It’s been a good day – and emotional having supporters back. It’s different with an atmosphere and it emphasises the game being all about supporters. We got our chance to experience that today.
