DARTS LATE SHOW DOES FOR STONES

DARTFORD underlined their early-season title credentials as they went four points clear at the top with late goals from Tom Bonner and substitute Charlie Sheringham sinking their Kent rivals.

There was little to choose between the sides until the 77th minute when Bonner gave the Darts the lead as neither keeper was previously seriously tested in a match that was largely very tight.

But once Dartford got their noses in front it was clear that they were going to take all three points.

It wasn’t until 13 minutes from time that there was suddenly something to note as Dartford took the lead.

A deep free-kick into the box was headed down by Conor Essam and Bonner reacted quickly to take a touch, move into space and lash a decent finish past Stones keeper Ravan Constable.

Darftord boss Steve King has been delighted with his center-halves recently.

“Conor scored in the week and Bonner scored against Chippenham away,” he said, forecasting their impact in the final third yesterday.
