NEW Eastleigh boss Andy Hessenthaler was over the moon as his battling Eastleigh came from behind to beat Dagenham & Redbridge and end their eight-match winless run.

Goals from Chris Zebroski and Paul McCallum cancelled out an early Michael Cheek goal to earn the Spitfires all three points in the week when Hessenthaler took over manager duties from Richard Hill, who back moved upstairs to his old director of football role.

“It’s been a great day hasn’t it, but it’s only been one game, it’s a tough place to come and we’ve got a good result,” beamed the former Gillingham and Leyton Orient boss.

“That’s the first hurdle now we’ve got to go back-to-back wins, which we haven’t yet achieved, as there is not following this performance up.
