SHOCKWAVES continues to reverberate around the Non-League scene in the northeast after Jason Ainsley ended his 14-year managerial reign at Spennymoor Town.
The Brewery Field legend has taken charge of over 770 games and led the Moors to a whole host of silverware – but Tuesday night’s defeat at Brackley Town will go down as his final game as Moors manager.
Ainsley’s assistant manager Tommy Miller was confirmed as the club’s new “interim manager on a full-time basis” and was in the away dugout as his side visited National League North promotion rivals York City on Saturday.
Moors supremo Brad Groves paid tribute to the departing Ainsley after he led the club to unprecedented success including four Northern League titles, an FA Vase, a Durham Challenge Cup and promotion into the second tier of Non-League football for the first time.
