REKEEM Harper is relishing the opportunity to kickstart his career as he attempts to guide Birmingham away from Championship danger.
Harper burst on to the scene at West Brom and became the second player born in this century to appear in the Premier League when he came off the bench aged 17 against Bournemouth on the opening day of the 201718 season.
But appearances have been sporadic since and the midfielder, now 20, has been limited to just 30 minutes of action across two cameos in the top flight this term.
Craving regular football, Harper opted to seek a temporary switch away from the Hawthorns and described his loan move to Blues as ‘win-win’.

“I’ve had a year of not playing much so it’s about getting back on track and showing I can compete in one of the top leagues in English football,” he said.
“I know it’s going to be tough but I feel ready for it. This is a perfect opportunity to show what I can do.
