IT’S still early days but Barrow striker Scott Quigley believes new boss Michael Jolley is the man to get the best out of him.

Jolley took the Bluebirds hot seat in late December after the dismissal of David Dunn and earned a 1-1 draw against Tranmere in his first game in charge, Quigley netting from the spot.

Having previously endured a ten-game winless run, the Holker Street outfit ended 2020 as one of League Two’s in-form sides with a return of seven points from a possible nine thanks to victories over Cheltenham and Port Vale under caretaker Rob Kelly, and that draw with Tranmere.

Quigley has been an essential part of the resurgence, netting four in his last four ahead of yesterday’s trip to fellow strugglers Southend – a run of form he puts down to his new boss

“Sometimes you get a new manager and they don’t fancy you but he has come in and said he’s really excited to work with me. I’ve been able to pay him back straight away,” the 28-year-old explained.
