Woolery helps lead push for promotion

OPTIMISM is growing at Prenton Park according to manager Keith Hill after he watched his side move into the automatic promotion places for the first time this season.

Starman Kaiyne Woolery and James Vaughan put Rovers into a comfortable lead before Jake Taylor dragged Port Vale back into the game.

Vaughan grabbed his second after the break to seal the points and Hill said: “I’m really, really pleased by the hard work, endeavor and effort. We defended from the front, pressed and the intensity was really good.

“The first goal was a great goal and I think the hard work has been put in by every player. It was a great ball by Jay (Spearing).

“We’ve created some fine opportunities, the intensity from the boys was great and I’m pleased for them and the supporters.

“We’re sat here with 20 games remaining. Nothing is decided yet but for me the magic formula is hard work.

“We got two other brilliant goals and we played outstanding football. I know they are capable of that, I demand hard work and it is so important for me and the supporters to see the endeavor.
