After Five Happy Years Together Adele and Her Partner, Simon Konecki, Are Finally Planning to Tie the Knot.

A dele has spent much of this past year — some 100 nights, give or take — onstage performing, as she’s joked, “20 songs about me and my ex-boyfriends” to sold-out stadium crowds. But through it all, her current partner, Simon Konecki, has been by her side, cheering her on. As she told the audience at a July 5 gig, in a testament to the solidity of their relationship, “I might as well be married. I’m not, but I might as well be.” Then she added, pointedly, “He simply hasn’t proposed yet.”

Hint taken, it seems: According to a source, the singer’s friends are buzzing that 42-year-old Simon (with whom Adele has a 4-year-old son, Angelo) popped the question just over a month later, in mid August! And, despite the fact that she’d telegraphed her likely answer to literally thousands of fans, he was nevertheless said to be thrilled when she said yes. “Simon has never been anything but loyal to Adele,” the source explains, “but thanks to all of her awful exes, she still had her doubts in the past.” In fact, the source says, “there was a time, when she was at her darkest, that she nearly pushed him away. Now, though, that’s all long since over, and everyone is so happy that they’re making their union official.”
