Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar’s theatrical release was fraught with challenges, but it later found an audience on Amazon Prime Video. In hindsight, was direct-to-streaming the way to go?

The producer/ director wanted a big screen release, but it needed the right conditions. That didn’t happen. We were going to release the film in March 2020 when the lockdown happened; we rescheduled it for March this year, but then the second wave of Covid struck.

Given your film choices lately, is there a conscious effort to mix it up, break the mould?
