Please update on the development of air launched BrahMos?
The BRAHMOS-A programme achieved milestone status with the maiden successful test firing of the advanced BRAHMOS airborne weapon from the Indian Air Force’s Sukhoi-30MKI fighter on November 22, 2017 against a ship target positioned in the Bay of Bengal.
With that landmark achievement which created a world-record feat for India, we are now moving forward to the next phase of the mission, which is to revalidate the formidable air-launched cruise missile’s ship attack capability. So, test firings of BRAHMOS-A from the Sukhoi-30 against ship and land target are lined up next. DRDO, IAF, IN, HAL and several organisations have synergised the efforts to realise the full potential of BRAHMOS weapon system.
What tasks were undertaken by BrahMos, HAL and Russian partners for air launched BrahMos?
