Welcome back, Tegan. Your first MAXIM cover, which was back in June 2016, did amazing — why do you think it went so well?

Thank you! It certainly did seem to be well received. The cover had a real superwoman vibe and at that time in my life I was going through a stage of growth and really starting to grow into my own. So, I guess this is why the cover resonated with so many people.

Were you surprised how the media reacted to it?

Not at all, they responded really well which is nice. Whenever I do anything I know the media will react to it in some way — I just don’t know how. I’ve learned to not really look into it or let it bother me. I hope they will also love this cover shoot. It’s very much inspired by old-school Christie Brinkley [’80s Sports Illustrated model and actress). I love Christie Brinkley!

Anything else you can tell us about the shoot?

Neil [Dixon, photographer] and I had such a great time shooting this feature. We again wanted to keep it sexy and strong and I always feel good in black, full pieces — they really work well with my curves.

What have you been up to since you last graced the pages of MAXIM?

I’ve been a busy girl! I was in South Africa for the first part of the year filming I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and soon after I travelled to America to launch my Universal Confidence workshops for young women. I was then fortunate enough to come home to a new ambassadorship with Suttons City Infiniti Rosebery car dealership in Sydney meaning I get to drive one of the latest set of wheels every month!
