For the first time in Parmigiani Fleurier’s history of watchmaking, they've incorporated a Hijri Perpetual Calendar in their wristwatch. This calendar saw its first premiere in the year 2011; 18 years after Mr. Michel Parmigiani restored a pocket watch and exclusively developed this technology. In this 'case', it is an AR-coated sapphire crystal with a sapphire back and is water-resistant to 30 meters. And quite obviously, as seen here, the aesthetics of the aforesaid Perpetual Calendar in a wristwatch is inspired by Arabic architecture elements and the lug shape is designed to be ergonomic and comfortable on the wrist.
