Why Once-Mighty West Indies Are Now A Dying Force?

The Caribbean Islands are beautiful and are visited by millions from across the globe every year. It is a dream come true for anyone, who gets the change to spend few days on these islands. Apart from the beautiful places, the Islands are famous for cricket as it runs in the blood of the local masses. Run in to bowl fast and whack the ball hard was the success mantra which was followed in West Indies since the inception of the game. However, with passage of time, the game of cricket has witnessed an alarming downfall with the national team losing matches one after another. Is cricket dying slowly in the Caribbean Island? The team which once ruled the world is now facing a possibility of not qualifying automatically for the fifty over world cup in 2019. Moreover, the Test victories have become rear and the one or two coming on the way is celebrated as if this team has recaptured its lost glory. Winning the T20 trophies won’t help the cause as other two formats are equally important and performing poorly in them has left a bad taste in the mouth of supporters.
