We have often heard you don’t like to be labelled. Can you elaborate what you do to avoid that?

Ans: I do my best and I am versatile in my selections of roles. I think if people label me then it’s not my problem it’s theirs. Society likes to put people in boxes because it eases their own limited comprehension of people.

What was the career choice in your mind while you were growing up?

Ans: My career choice while growing up was the same that I am in currently. I am an actor and I always wanted to be in performing arts, I always wanted to be somebody who could be on stage, could tell jokes, could dance, could do music, and could act. I am really glad that I am living my dream.

You have always been vocal about issues in the industry and general life. What difference do you think it has brought about?

Ans: When one chooses to be vocal about the society or the industry, its not because we hope to bring about any immediate change. One tweet in 280 characters is not going to make any difference to anybody’s lives or change the face of the society/ industry but when you choose to speak about something is because you will not be okay with yourself if you do not register your displeasure at something. Its never with an intent of hoping for a miraculous change.

How has life changed for you in the last two years?

Ans: It has just made me more empathetic due to the trauma and tragedy the world has gone through.
