The Young Founder and CEO of Communicate India, Akshaara Lalwani Converses With Tina Thakrar About Running One of India’s Leading Integrated Media Solutions Companies.
-

When the feisty and determined Akshaara Lalwani turned 16, she got her first job with a media transcription company. At 17, she switched careers and became one of the youngest employees at HDFC Mutual Fund. At 18, she moved to an investment banking firm, where she displayed strong skills in marketing, relationship management and communication. At 22, she worked with a boutique PR agency, handling client servicing, business development, hiring, training and acquisitions. But it was on the day she turned 23 that Akshaara took life into her own hands, turned it around and set up her own PR firm.
Communicate India, as her company is called, was instituted in 2012 with one employee. “I wanted to paint my canvas my way, and entrepreneurship was the way to do that. Fear tends to hold potential entrepreneurs back, but if you’re confident of your skill set, you can make that jump. So with the foundation I’d built, I took the plunge!” exclaims the ambitious go-getter.
