Remastering classic games and releasing them on current gaming platforms is something that game developers have been doing it for years and if you look at it from their perspective, it makes sense to cash in on an existing proven IP. Take Capcom’s Resident Evil 2, for instance. The original Resident Evil 2 was released 21 years ago in 1998 on PlayStation that catapulted the survival horror series to the top, selling close to 50 lakh copies. Now Capcom is back with this classic updated for modern gaming platforms but does it do justice to the original? Let’s find out.

Resident Evil 2 follows the story of a rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they travel to Raccoon City only to find themselves in a zombie-infested area, thanks to a big and greedy company, Umbrella.

Players can play as Leon or Claire, depending on their preference.
