Design & Build Quality

The Sony FE 135 mm f/1.8 GM is a peach of a lens! Though on the heavier side, it feels solid, just like any pro lens should. The finish is immaculate. The lens barrel chassis is made with lightweight but strong magnesium alloy. The lens mount is made of metal. The lens is ‘dust and moisture resistant’ though Sony says that it is not guaranteed to be 100-per cent dust and moisture-proof. The supplied deep lens hood has an anti-reflecting material on the inside to prevent any flare due to light reflecting within the hood. The hood also has a lock so that it does not come off inadvertently. The filter thread is 82 mm. The lens weighs 1020 g with the lens hood. It is made in China.
