|October 2016
The first photograph was created in the year 1826. The underlying process was later improved and the patent covering it was made available free to the public on the 19th August 1839.

This date is celebrated every year as the World Photographic day. Since then, photography has seen many avatars in the last 177 years and its journey through this period has been phenomenal.
Today, photography is one of the most democratic and popular forms of communication irrespective of the reason - purely artistic or communication of an idea or just a social exchange. Unfortunately, there is no place in India which celebrates photography by showcasing its history while giving due coverage to both the facets of photography, viz., technology and art.
