Australia's Top End holds a special place in Jessica Mauboy's heart, so it's only fitting the blushing bride-to-be will finally wed Themeli Magripilis under spectacular outback skies.

It's been 14 magical years since the ARIA Award winner first laid eyes on her husband-to-be. But planning their special day after announcing their engagement back in 2019 hasn't been nearly as easy as they thought!

"They struggled to find the perfect location to incorporate both their cultures - Jess with her proud Indigenous roots, and Themeli with his rich Greek heritage," a well-placed source tells New Idea.

"The Territory's outback reflects where they both grew up in Darwin and is the perfect backdrop with its famous deserts and glorious colours."

"I don't know what I'd do without these two," Jess captioned a photo of her with fiancé Themeli and their pup Leo.

If all goes to plan, the three-day event is due to take place over the coming months while Jess, 32, gets a break from her judging commitments on The Voice and her national tour.

Unlike most brides who often choose an off-the-rack wedding gown, the former Australian Idol runner-up is set to surprise everyone with what she'll be wearing to walk down the aisle.
