At a high school-themed event in Bushwick, New York City, Vans introduced its ComfyCush technology. Shweta Mehta Sen was at hand to experience it all, and later caught up with Erwin Federizo, the brand’s Global Executive Creative Director, to learn more about it.

A Bushwick warehouse was turned into a high school set to host ComfyCush High – an event held to introduce Vans’ ComfyCush technology. The set started with a locker room – where each “student” opened their locker to discover their very own pair of ComfyCush Era sneakers – leading into various classrooms. Science class took us into a lab where the shoe was stripped down to demonstrate its layers and understand the new technology. A history lesson – delving into the birth and evolution of the classic Era shoe – was delivered by skateboarding icon Tony Alva. Following a quick yearbook picture session, students proceeded to the gym, where a bulletin promised a live band. The finale was a live performance by acclaimed rapper Lil Wayne, who treated fans to some of his best-known tracks, like ‘Lollipop’, Mona Lisa’ and ‘A Milli’.
