On the eve of the HSBC Women’s World Championship on Sentosa, we chat with American golfer STACY LEWIS, who is hoping to repeat her victory here in 2013.
Come 3 to 6 March, Singapore will see Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim defend her title at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, taking place at Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore. Last year, the 2014 Evian Championship winner played in the first major sports event to take place in Singapore since the beginning of the pandemic, where she secured her first victory on the LPGA Tour in five years and claimed her fourth LPGA title by a single shot margin.
This year, the tournament is set to feature nine of the top ten ranked players in the world, including current number one Jin Young Ko, plus Lydia Ko (third) and Inbee Park (fourth). And keep your eyes peeled for first-time championship competitor Yuka Saso, who claimed no less than six top ten finishes last year – including a first major title at the US Women’s Open in her rookie year.
