Party entertainment experts Rumple and Friends have been running holiday camps for kids for the past three years. Find out why they’re so popular from director MATT COOMBES.

Tell us about the holiday camps run by Rumple and Friends.

We’ve been organising regular holiday camps as a way to get kids involved with a fantastic mix of drama, musical theatre, arts and crafts, as well as magic and circus programmes. Our camps are all performing arts-based. They are usually themed, so they will have a focus for the arts and crafts sections, as well as a script for the final performance.

What’s the format?

Our summer camps generally have two different age groups: three-to-six-year-olds and six-to-ten-year-olds. There’s sometimes some crossover as we like to keep siblings together – unless the parents request that they be split up! Each week has a specific theme, such as Comic Book Crazy or Around the World in 80 Days. Sessions are two hours long, with a morning and afternoon session.

What’s the aim of your holiday camps?
