AUTHOR of Billy McNeill: In Praise of Caesar, Alex Gordon was at Celtic Park this week for the launch of his latest book.
He sat down with the Celtic View to chat about how the book came to fruition.
This is your 12th Celtic book. What prompted you to take on the task?
I just felt there was a book about Billy that had yet to be written. I wondered if I could fill the void. Of course, I realised how popular the man is with so many people, not necessarily former team-mates, but rivals, too. I’m talking about someone such as Sir Alex Ferguson. I realised the high esteem in which the Manchester United icon holds his former derby opponent.
So, how did you set about pulling it together?
