The Celtic Family Remember Tommy Gemmell
Celtic View
|Vol 52 Issue 34
THE Celtic Family turned out in huge numbers on Friday to say a final farewell to club legend Tommy Gemmell, who passed away the previous week at the age of 73.
-

Thousands of supporters lined The Celtic Way and London Road to pay their respects to one of the all-time Celtic greats as the funeral cortege made its way from Paradise to Daldowie Crematorium,
Fans had already left scarves, shirts and other tributes at the front of the stadium in homage to the Lisbon Lion, who scored that stunning equaliser against Inter Milan 50 years ago as Jock Stein’s side became the first British team to lift the European Cup.
And as the procession made its way past the crowds, fittingly, the Celtic fans gave Tommy Gemmell one last stirring round of applause at a ground where he brought so much joy to so many people.
