Fresh from a fantastic week with Scotland’s Under-17s, Kerr McInroy was fast-tracked straight through to his Celtic Development Squad debut

MIDFIELDER Kerr McInroy made a scoring debut for the Development Squad in the 4-1 win over Inverness Caley Thistle last Thursday and it capped off an amazing spell for the 16-year-old.
He was one of FIVE Celtic Youth Academy players – Jack Aitchison who skippered the Scots, Daniel Church, Robbie Deas and Stephen Welsh – being the others, who helped Scotland U17s qualify for the European Championship finals with an impressive 100 per cent record in the Elite Round.
After defeating Malta 6-0, Wales 1-0 and Portugal 10 at the qualifying stage to finish top of Group 10 on nine points with eight goals scored and none against, the young Scots went into the Elite Round.
The youngsters recorded three wins at St Mirren Park in defeating Montenegro 6-1, Serbia 1-0 and Switzerland also 1-0 to top Group 4 and qualify for the finals in Croatia.
McInroy sat down with the View on the day of his Development Squad debut.
What it was like to have such a successful campaign in the Elite Group?
