KIERAN Tierney is living proof that dreams do come true. The Celtic ball-boy turned first-team star has been crowned the club’s Young Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and the 19-year-old couldn’t be happier with his achievements.

The young defender, who’s a product of the Celtic Youth Academy, made his senior competitive debut in April 2015 and he hasn’t looked back since. With two league titles and one League Cup to his name already, the future is bright for the young Celt.

In two years, Tierney has made more than 70 appearances, scored three goals and performed in both the UEFA Champions League, and the Europa League. The 19-year-old has also been a mainstay of Brendan Rodgers’ side which has re-written the history books with the club’s best start to a domestic campaign for 100 years, and he’s just getting started.

Speaking exclusively to the Celtic View, Tierney said: “You can never imagine what it’s really like playing for Celtic, because when you’re little, it’s just dreams, and you never think they’ll come true.

“This season, especially, has been the dream season. It started off with qualifying for the Champions League, which is such a great achievement for the club, and then we won the League Cup and became six-in-a-row champions. Obviously, there is another cup final to look forward to, but it’s been an incredible season.”

Tierney was just seven-years-old when he started playing for Celtic and coming through the youth ranks gave the youngster a flavour for what life could be like as a professional footballer. However, the left-back admits nothing prepared him for the reality of life in Paradise.
