Gerry McCulloch is looking forward to the new season with Celtic TV

- Louise Gould

Lights, Camera, Action...

GERRY McCulloch might be new to the Celtic multi-media team but he definitely isn’t new to the world of Scottish football, or Celtic for that matter.

He left the popular Clyde 1 Superscoreboard football phone-in show in June to become head of Celtic TV and Digital Media. He has also previously worked as a presenter and sports journalist for the likes of STV, BBC, and Sky Sports.

And since starting at the club he has already been reporting from the Lennoxtown training centre and covering the team’s pre-season tour of Austria while also planning for the season ahead as Celtic TV continue to cover Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles.

The Celtic View caught up with him ahead of this weekend’s Premiership Flag Day at Paradise against Hearts…

Why did you decide to come to Celtic now?

Celtic has always been there in my life since a young kid. You don’t decide to be a Celtic supporter – you’re told when you’re a young kid! When the opportunity arose there was obviously that pull. But the timing of it now with Brendan Rodgers being in and things going the way they are... the chance to come to Celtic now and be part of a great team of people, be part of the club and help in any way that I can to take what I do and put Celtic TV on to another level was too good an opportunity to miss.

How are you finding working at Celtic TV?
